5 Tips to Help You Sell More on Poshmark
Imagine if you could go back 15 years to when Amazon was in it's infancy & start your eCommerce Business there & then. You would most likely be doing Millions in sales (at least) simply for catching the right wave at the right time.
That is exactly what the current landscape looks like on Poshmark today.
Poshmark is a super underrated Marketplace where you can sell clothes for extra money...or at least that's how it started.
Recently, they've introduced an entirely new Category, Homegoods. Previously, it had only been for clothing & clothing accessories.
On top of that, they have plans to move into Canada later this year. All this would indicate that Poshmark is looking to continue expanding (both in the types of products they'll allow you to list, as well as the countries that can use the platform).
Because of this emerging opportunity, I want to briefly go over 5 tips that will help you sell more on Poshmark. Implement them & you will see them pay off in extra sales...
Tip #1: List your items more expensively than you expect to sell them
This will create a sense of value when you drop your prices ( & if you sell them at that higher price point, then awesome!).
You can do this in two main ways, but utilizing Closet Clearout sales & dropping your price down 10% during these special sales is probably the best way. These types of sales happen about 2-4 times per month & you'll get an email notification when they are happening.
You can also make offers to "likers" constantly from a higher price point. This will give the illusion of a higher value on the product/listing. That will result in the "liker"/person getting the offer to have the perception that the offer is a bargain.
Tip #2: Organize your closet for visitors to get more sales
You can do this is two main ways, as well. You can put sold items at the bottom of your closet so buyers don’t have to sort through your sold items in order to share, like, or buy your available ones. You can also put your most desirable items at the top of your closet because most people only share & look at the items at the top of your closet.
Tip #3: Organize your closet for parties to get more sales
For instance, let’s say there’s a jean party going on right now (and you have a few jean listings). Well, then a great strategy to sell more jeans would be to organize your jeans to the top of your closet by sharing them. Then go share exclusively from the jean party for a while.
The idea here is when you share items from a party, that person is going to come to your closet to share back (similar to like for like on Instagram). That will hopefully spark a few sales too because obviously the people frequenting & sharing from the jean parties are more inclined to also be interested in your jean listings, too. And the Same thing goes with any item/niche if there’s a party that’s related to it.
Tip #4: Use automation software
There are many Poshmark automation software’s & services out there. I personally love Simple Posher (it's a google chrome app).
Automating your closet takes your time out of the equation & works to share, like, comment, & engage while you’re living your life. That means you don't have to spend hours on the app everyday to do it yourself.
Tip #5: Be patient & don’t always expect your items to sell right away
You could be leaving a lot of potential profit on the table if you drop your prices too fast to spark a sale. Be patient & understand that people will buy them eventually. Use the automation to bring in consistent traffic. Use the sharing techniques to organize your closet properly. Price higher than expected & then make offers. DON’T drop your listing price down too low b/c then it creates the perception of no value in that listing & you’ll actually have a harder time selling it.
